For all of you, this will be the first time that you have visited the new Morris Blog, entitled “Scrubs and a Calculator.” For the thousands following the “DMo” blog, I regret to inform you that it has been terminated and that huge void in your life from the yearly posts can be filled here on this blog. I would promise consistent posts, but since this is in writing and don’t want to get held to anything, I will set the bar low (i.e. the frequency on dmo7.blogspot.com) and try step over it.
Mimicking a column by one of my favorite sport’s writers who goes back and watches a part of a game and makes comments the day after the game. I am going to go back a couple of months to give you a sneak peak into our exciting life.

We were married in the San Diego Temple and had a nice wedding dinner that night with close family and friends. We are happy to announce that we are still happily married.

We fly from LA to Cancun to spend our honeymoon in paradise.
The view from our hotel room, which includes the pools and beach access to the Caribbean.

While on our honeymoon, we went to Chichen Itza (aka the Mayan Ruins). It was raining there (which was actually nice and pleasant) because it had about 1,000% humidity and is usually over 100 degrees.

The rest of our honeymoon we hung out in the pool, ocean, found seashells, went partying at senor frogs, broke open coconuts, and got saved from drowning by Brazilian men in skimpy speedos.

After flying back to Medford, we had a lovely open house in Oregon at the Clason’s home. The night concluded with a very eventful present opening party with cracker jacks all over the living room floor.

Doug and Christy (Liz’s parents) entertained my parents and Liz and I with a night on the town that included Cheesecake factory, Donny and Marie, and the Bellagio Fountains. Highlights of the night included:
- Cindy Morris jumping out of her seat to Donny singing soldier of love in his tight leather pants.
- Marie Osmond pointing and winking to Dave in the crowd.
- Having the two best songs being played while watching the fountain show.

We finally found out one of the benefits of having a father as stake president—tickets to general conference. President Morris and his wife flew out to Utah for the weekend and we went to Saturday morning, Priesthood, and Sunday morning sessions. It was great to be at the conference center and great to be there with our families.

We actually made friends in our new ward (just 2) because one of them works at the NICU in Provo and Liz picked up an extra shift there and so they came over and carved pumpkins. It was a Thursday and the Oregon Ducks were playing on TV, so Dave made an Oregon O as his pumpkin and Liz’s was great, but it was a traced pattern.

I had a Halloween work party and they had a few different events. Because my “good looking version of Dave” didn’t win the costume contest, I decided I needed to represent my shift in the bobbing for apples contest. Not only was I the only one to get an apple, I got two of them in about 30 seconds. It did however get me a little wet as you can see from the pictures below.

Liz finally had a weekend off and so we treked down to Provo in a near monsoon and went to the BYU vs. Wyoming football game. It was a lot of fun (especially cause the rain stopped) and the cougars won.

With our two aforementioned friends we decorated the back of Dave’s truck and passed out candy at our ward’s trunk-r-treat. Since we were pirates we actually stole candy from the kids instead of passing it out (not really).

Well, well it's about time. Great pictures and recap of your life. Glad to see you representing the fam at the work parties. Cool pimpkin too.
Hey Dave and Liz,
I love your blog. I think you're referring to Bill Simmons and if so, I love it even more.

Nice post! Congrats on the bobbing for apples contest - those are great pics. And those are pretty impressive pirate costumes! We are hoping to see another post soon :)
Nice post Dave! Although I do think you needed to spend more time on the saved-by-a-speedo-wearing-Brazilian story. :) Good times. Great costumes too!
Love the blog!
